1. Social media works best when you WANT to be on social media. If your business is working for you, you don’t have to be on social.
2. Why is video so powerful? It grabs people’s attention and helps build connection.
3. Social media platforms focusing on short form video (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok) are on the rise.
4. If you have any doubt about using content that may be copyrighted, always check with your legal counsel.
5. As with any marketing, it is crucial to establish goals, audiences, strategies and a way to measure results.
6. Know what audience you are trying to reach and then focus on the platforms where those people frequent.
7. Engaging on social media includes liking, replying, sharing, commenting, and tagging. Engaging will help boost your exposure online.
8. Provide value, be consistent and follow up with those on social media to build your online reputation.
9. Consider the ways you can collaborate with industry partners on social media.
10. When operating on social media, keep the Code of Ethics in mind.
