Members who want to elevate their career and take designation or certifications (like the GREEN Designation) can apply for a REALTOR® Scholarship to help alleviate costs.

The REALTOR® scholarship is awarded to 2 members annually. This scholarship awards up to $300 each.

Scholarship Details! 

The scholarship shall be awarded based upon the following criteria:

• Application must be for a real-estate related course taken within the twelve months before/after the award has been granted.

• Applicant must be an active full dues-paying member of GLAR with a minimum of 12 months of active membership with GLAR.

• Applicant must demonstrate some service to GLAR in the form of membership on a GLAR committee, advisory group or task force, provided, however, that the applicant has attended and participated in the meetings held.

• Applicant must provide proof that the course was completed by attaching a certificate of successful completion for reimbursement, along with a receipt for the course (based on actual monies paid) to GLAR.

• Funds do not provide for meals or travel expense.

• Only one scholarship will be granted per member during their entire membership with GLAR.

GREEN Designation

The Greater Lansing Association of REALTORS® and Aspire North have partnered to offer members the GREEN Designation course December 5 & 6 at Aspire North in Traverse City, MI!

The newly updated GREEN Designation Course: People, Property, Planet, Prosperity covers the distinguishing characteristics that make a high-performance home. The course looks at how consumer demand for these homes is increasing and provides a detailed accounting of how high-performance features work. The course prepares real estate professionals to provide advice and sources of information to help homeowners improve the performance of their homes— from low-cost fixes and DIY projects, to retrofitting and replacing systems, to big budget remodeling projects and new constructions.
